Screen Printing FAQs

Screen printing, also known as silkscreen printing, is a method of printing images onto a surface using ink and a screen made of mesh. The image is first transferred onto the screen using a stencil and then ink is pushed through the mesh onto the surface through a squeegee. This process can be used to print on various objects including shirts, t-shirts, bags and more.

The type of ink used in screen printing depends on what is being printed on. The most common types of ink used in screen printing are plastisol ink and water-based ink. Plastisol ink is ideal for printing on textiles and can be used on light or dark colored fabrics. Water-based ink, on the other hand, is used for printing on fabric and paper, and is more environmentally friendly.

Yes, you can create your own custom design to be printed on a shirt. Most screen printing companies provide an option to upload your own artwork or logo for print. You can also work with a designer to create a custom design for your shirt.

The process of custom shirt printing involves several steps. First, you'll need to choose the shirt color and fabric, and provide your own design or work with a designer to create a custom design. We will then prepare the stencil and screen for the design. The ink is then applied to the screen and the shirt is printed using a squeegee and dried in a heat tunnel. After the shirt is printed, it's checked for quality and then shipped to the customer.

Our minimum quantity for screen printing is 30 garments.

Times can vary, for smaller runs of screen printing it can be as little as 2 weeks, for custom manufactured garments in large quantities (+500) this can be substantially longer BUT we do pride ourselves on being able to work with clients to agree upon a time frame that suits everyone, so if you have left it till the last minute there is still hope.
